This year’s 14 a side matches resulted in a 10-4 win for the Castle (H: 6-1; A: 4-3) to win the Henderson Shield which was presented to Captain David Kirkwood. The all time tally now stands at DCGC 28 - MGC 33.
The team this year was as follows: - David Kirkwood (Capt) / John Taylor, Martin Kellagher / Alan Fraser, Paul Lafferty / Roger Wait, Bob Cowper / Allan Jardine, Alan Macdonald / Stuart Munro, Kevin Thomson / Paul Craigs, Stephen Lindsey / Jeff Aitken.
The Castle Committee are asking members to indicate their interest in playing in a foursomes match with a light lunch (£5) after the golf in the Gullane GC Main Clubhouse. The above match is subject to tee time availability and the number of Castle Members wishing to participate.
Morning tee time availability would be made known on the 22nd December.
Open to the first forty members who append their names on the boarded notice. Closing date for entries is Sunday the 18th December 2011.
The format shall be Drawn Foursomes Stableford (Half combined handicap). Two teams shall be the Secretary’s & Captain’s.
